Well it has been a while since I wrote a stand alone blog post. As I write this it is 27F outside at the crack of dawn. I am at a rest stop near Kerrville, Texas, just west of San Antonio. As a cold weather boondocking novice, I almost depleted my battery last night running the onboard furnace, so a new buddy heater is in the shopping list. I need the battery for more important things, like editing videos. I’ve been driving non stop for nearly three days. Now it is time to slow down and take in this part of the country that is new to me.
The Tampa Show
Well, let’s get to is shall we. I had a great time at the Tampa RV show or Florida Supershow as it is officially called. First of all it was great to meet so many viewers and listeners, and I have so many pictures. I will make a slide show at the end of the final video of the show.
When it comes to RVs, there were some favorites of course. As you probably know we are thinking of eventually getting a B+ or small class C motorhome. However our two past favorites the Winnebago Trend, and the Winnebago Via corner bed were missing this year. I know we are probably in the minority. We happen to like corner bed units although the rage for the past couple of years have been murphy bed units. Murphy beds work great if you and your spouse have identical schedules, but if one of you stays up late working, well most of the time there is no working area when the bed is down.
Next, I am going to share with you some of the videos I captured during the show. I was there for five days, so I saw a lot. For that matter there are still many videos I havent been able to edit, that I will be releasing little by little.
If I have to call a winner this year, at least for me, it is the Pleasure Way Plateau XLT. I think it can be adapted to have a permanent bed and a permanent table where we can work while on the road.
Now, the westward adventure begins. Stay tuned!
